PRSMS Infinity Academy 2020-2021 Application

Welcome Interested Pasco Families!

The Infinity Academy is home to blended learning classrooms at Paul R. Smith Middle School. These classes combine online learning and teacher-led lessons, while students work at their own pace.

Students selected for the Infinity Academy will use the Pasco eSchool curriculum while being supported by highly qualified teachers in the classroom. Students take Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and two electives – both in a traditional classroom setting. Each student is assigned a MacBook Air laptop computer, which they are free to take home to continue their class work, once the computer is insured. Insurance cost is $35.

Students will follow a pacing guide and meet individually with teachers weekly to discuss progress. The ideal Infinity Academy candidate is motivated, independent, and ready to learn!

Students, at the bottom of this application, please attach one student composed essay explaining why you feel that the blended learning model offered by the Infinity Academy would be the best choice for your middle school education.

In addition, at the bottom of this application, applicants must attach two work samples. These should be from your current school year and may be from subject areas of your choosing. Please choose things that represent you at your very best both creatively and academically.

Both the writing sample and two work samples need to be uploaded with this application. A scanned document or picture will be accepted. Use the upload tool at the bottom of the application.

There is no cost to participate in the program, however there is an insurance fee required to cover the computer. The insurance policy costs $35.00. Students will not be excluded from the Infinity Academy if they do not have the financial means to pay; the computer will just remain on campus.
