I’m very excited to announce that the PRSMS Theatre Department will be hosting auditions for our very first spring musical—Beetlejuice, Jr.! A sixty-minute version of the popular film and Broadway show, I am looking to cast a variety of roles, and EVERYONE is welcome. You do not have to be enrolled in a theatre class to audition! All grades are welcome.
FOR AUDITIONS:
ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME (you do not have to have theatre class to be involved)!
Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of music (or no more than one minute) to sing so Ms. Chapman may cast you in an appropriate role for your voice. Music may be from any appropriate musical or even just a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ if you are unsure what to sing! You may use backing tracks available on YouTube, or sing acapella (singing auditions will ONLY be in front of Ms. Chapman).
During auditions, we will also be doing readings from the script. We also may do some small group dancing, but nothing scary! This is all meant to be fun!
EVERY PART IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE OTHERS.
Auditions will be in building 2, room 109, starting after school on December 4th.
IMPORTANT: Students cast in the show must keep their grades up in their classes and exhibit appropriate behavior while in classes. There will be no drama in the cast (save it for the stage). If students break any rules or are unable to keep their academics in good standing will be asked to leave the show.
Rehearsals will be after school; a final schedule will be drafted based on any conflicts student actors may have. The show will be performed in April (dates TBA)
There WILL be positions available backstage – lights, sound, sets, dance captain, costumes, etc. We will have interviews and sign-ups for those at a date yet to be announced.
